While staying at Colter Bay RV Park, the trailhead for the Lakeshore Trail is within walking distance from our campsite. The views of Jackson Lake and the Teton Range were quite spectacular for our early morning hike. This trail is actually a figure eight, with two loops, both about a mile. On the first loop, we followed the shore line as you wander through a forested area and along the shore of Jackson Lake.\u00a0<\/h4>\n

After crossing an open causeway, you enter the second loop which takes through a much thicker forest and away from the shoreline. Frequently, there were signs warning hikers of possible bear activity in this area. Deb and I carry bear spray just in case, fortunately we did not have any encounters.\u00a0<\/h4>\n

Once again, we came upon the Jackson Lake shoreline and the snowcapped Teton mountains across the lake. The reflection shots here on the rocky shore were incredible. We continued to follow the loop back through the forest, returning to the causeway.<\/h4>\n

We stayed on the trail that took us more directly back to the RV park and also allowed us to remain on the lakeshore instead of going to the visitor center and marina. Trail distance was about 3 miles, nice way to start the day.<\/h4>\n
